To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the classic animation "Digimon 02", Japan's Bandai Toy Company has specially launched a commemorative product "D-3 Monster Fighter DETECT & DISCOVER 25th Anniversary Color Evolution Edition", which is expected to be officially released in July 2025. The commemorative models launched this time are divided into three different versions, including "Hongiya Daisuke color", "Ichijoji Ken color", and DX Mechadramon color", allowing fans to choose and collect according to their favorite characters.
This 25th anniversary model is redesigned based on the classic original version released in 2000. It perfectly reproduces the appearance structure and body size of that year, and at the same time, it has been fully upgraded in terms of hardware specifications. Not only does it use a modern color LCD screen, it also adds a lighting notification function and a convenient USB Type-C charging design, which greatly enhances the experience. In terms of software content, the wonderful story of "Digital Tyrannosaurus 02" is fully presented through rainbow graphics and rich sound effects.
What is particularly worth mentioning is that the game fully contains the exciting evolution scenes in the animation, recreating the classic moments of Digimon evolution in full-color images, and playing "Break Up!", "Brave Heart!" ” and other popular evolutionary theme songs. Players can collect "Digital Armor" fragments during the adventure, and upon completion, their partners can "Armor Evolve". In addition, the game also perfectly restores classic scenes such as "VZimon and Bugmon combine to evolve into Mechadramon", and can even further evolve into "Emperordramon" and its combat form, Paladin form and other ultimate forms.
What touches fans the most is that this product specially invited the original voice actors to re-record their voices for the game, including Reiko Kinuchi who voices Daisuke Motomiya, Lumi Park who voices Wallace, and other seven selected children and their Digimon partners (except Mr. Hirata Hiroaki, who plays the 36-year-old Takeshi Takaishi, was unable to participate in the new recording). These familiar voices will lead players to relive the emotions of the past and once again feel the unique charm of each character and Digimon partner.
